How to make a Minecraft texture pack on your phone
You can make a full Minecraft: Java Edition texture pack on an iPhone, an Android phone or a tablet, with no app to install. MineTexture runs in your phone's browser: pick a starter pack or start from the game's own textures, paint with one finger and export the .zip.
Updated 11 October 2026.
1. Open the editor
Go to minetexture.xyz/editor in Safari, Chrome or any current browser. The first time, it downloads the textures for your Minecraft version from Mojang and keeps them on your phone, so later visits are quicker.
2. Start a pack
Tap Create Pack and pick your Minecraft version, or tap one of the starter templates (flat colour, pastel, moonlit, medieval, smooth 32× and more) to start from a ready-made style.
3. Paint with your fingers
- One finger paints.
- Two fingers move the texture; pinch to zoom.
- Hold a finger still to pick the colour under it.
- The tools (pencil, eraser, fill, picker, line, shapes) are in the bar at the bottom. Tap Colour to choose a colour, type a hex code or tap a swatch, and Textures to open another texture.
4. Export the pack
Tap Export at the top, then Export ZIP. Your phone saves a .zip with pack.mcmeta in the right place. Your work is also saved in the browser as you go.
5. Put it in the game
Java Edition runs on computers, so copy the .zip to the computer you play on (AirDrop, a cloud drive, email or a USB cable), then in Minecraft go to Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder, and drop it in.
MineTexture makes Java Edition packs. The phone and console version of Minecraft is Bedrock Edition, which uses a different pack format, so these packs won't load there.
Tips
- Turn your phone sideways or use a tablet for a bigger canvas.
- Turn a photo into a texture with Image to pixel art, then paste it in.
- Animate a texture in one tap with Auto Animate (92 effects).
Open it on your phone now. Nothing to install.
